St Patrick Community Support Centre assists people in the South West of Western Australia who are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing homelessness.

The Housing First Homelessness Initiative provides accommodation and wrap-around support to people sleeping rough in the Perth Metropolitan Area, Rockingham/Mandurah, Bunbury and Geraldton.

Mandurah and Rockingham have experienced a spike in homelessness in the last 12 months, so this state government initiative is promising.

The state government has awarded a $2.4 million contract to help break the cycle of homelessness in the Mandurah and Rockingham area.

St Patrick Community Support Centre will run the service, which is expected to be operational in the coming months.

It will include a local office, with a location to be determined in Rockingham or Mandurah. However, the work will mostly be in the field, with support workers going to the people they support.

The Housing First Support Service contract is part of the state’s $34.5 million Housing First Homelessness initiative.
